A group of Sri Lankan designers led by Mr. Vishwakirthi Deshmanya H. C. L. Wickramasinghe, the master of Minuwangoda Star Granite Stone Carving, has created the 42-feet high stone Buddha statue with the seal of Kayotsarga Temple and the background designs, the flower seat, the Piyageta text and the cobblestones, all of which have been perfectly created from stone. A capital of 05 crores has been spent for this design effort of about 08 years.
In Waturawila Aranya Senasana, which is the headquarters of 200 other Vanusi Aranya Senasanas such as Madunagala and Kalugala, there is also a relic house modeled after the Dalada Maliga in Kandy. The Water Lake Aranya Senasana, which showcases Hela Bodu’s design skills in perfect harmony with the environment, is a soothing and lovely event.
